The buzzing bus buzzed so much that nothing could stop it – it’s buzzing could be heard all over the town and soon everything else was buzzing, too. The cars parked at the side of the road buzzed when the buzzing bus passed and buzzed rather than honking their horns. The buzzing bus made the bicycles buzz so much they never got a flat tyre … and so did the bus – stop and traffic lights (so much that the red, amber and green lights lit up and changed colour). Even the pedestrians buzzed as well on every step they took. The buzzing bus buzzed in the park … and the ducks on the pond buzzed instead of quacking. The buzzing bus buzzed on the dog and he buzzed instead of barking so much that his lead shook and tail buzze when it wagged. The buzzing bus buzzed through the air so that the wasps buzzed when they started to sting and so did the butterflies, too. The buzzing bus buzzed so much that it never needed to fill up with diesel … it’s engines buzzed and when it’s wheels got a puncture, the tyres buzzed out buzzing air. Very soon the whole town was a wonderfully, buzzing animal zoo.
Activity
Draw a map of your town. Make a bus using a matchbox and show the way that you drive to school. You may even sing the song “The Wheels on the Bus” as you do it.
