A Very Personal Pizza

Pizzas are my favourite food … with pieces of pepperoni, fragrant basil and pine nut pesto, black olives, fresh tomatoes and our blend of four cheeses pizza. The Queen’s truly British and most royal pizza is made of rich jewels, what else ? Farmer Gyles’ – vegetarian with red and green peppers, onion, mushrooms and black olives topped with our blend of four cheeses. Welsh pizzas are leek – flavoured, eaten by Welsh dragons. Pizzas covered in shamrocks are Irish – green, tasty and full of vitamins. The French like their french bread pizzas covered in onions – served with Bordeaux by waiters in striped tops. Achille Express Italian style cafe pizzas are cappuccino flavoured and sing opera – romantic valentine pizzas with love hearts all over them … the high notes are cooked to very high temperatures ! Other ancient Roman pizzas are mama mia meatball and papa pepperoni – flavoured with fragrant basil and pine nut pesto, black olives, fresh tomatoes and our blend of four cheeses. Calabria Italian sausage, spicy Capicola ham, salami and topped with fresh basil and oregano. Greek pizzas, chicken piccante spicy roast chicken with smoked bacon, olives and goat cheese – a favorite – are very well baked in the Meditteranean sun and are always eaten by people wearing swimming costumes. Russian pizzas are often thrown to the floor and smash ! Bugs Bunny and Peter Rabbit’s often get together for a pizza slice or two – their pizzas are covered in lettuce leaves and carrots. Sylvester’s pizza is covered in bird seed and worms. Chicago pizzas are stolen in get away vehicles by gangsters in black Al Capone suits who drive to a Californian hide – out for a secret picnic deluxe bagel treat. Manhatten style pizzas are served on the top of skyscrapers. Authentic, hand tossed, baked in a stone oven New York style pies – Don’t get better than this ! Maria’s Argentinian Margherita pizzas are traditionally prepared with tomato sauce, fresh basil and our blend of four cheeses to the sound of sing – along “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina !” But as for myself, my pizza is simple made for you.

Basic Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
1 12-to 14-inch pizza crust (thawed, if frozen)
Olive oil
Vegetables (see suggestions)
Sauce (optional)
Cheeses (see suggestions)
Fresh or dried herbs (see suggestions)
If using oven: Place thawed pizza crust on a round baking pan, and prebake at 450F for 3-4 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside to cool slightly. Heat 1-2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet. Add vegetables that are marked as “precook” and saute, stirring frequently, until softened. Brush crust with more olive oil and spread sauce evenly over crust, if using, then sprinkle vegetables over that. Add cheeses and fresh herbs. Bake pizza at 450F for 12 to 15 minutes, until cheese melts and pizza is heated through.
