Robin Hood & His Merry Men

Robin Hood and his merry men were having a party one day … they loved to party. They gathered together piles of wood for a Sherwood forest bar – bq and sticks and bottles of delicious scrumpy cider. Robin Hood and his merry men all wore green gnome party hats and played hide and seek in the woods … well they were extremely well camouflagued. They told jokes about the Sheriff of Nottingham till they almost rolled off the battlements of Nottingham castle. Party games in the woods included shooting arrows at the apples and pin the tail on the horse. Robin Hood put all his merry men in a circle and got them to spin sticks around. The winner had to try and lift Friar Tuck onto the branch of a tree. He huffed and puffed. It was hopeless ! Friar Tuck was just too big. By now the merry men were getting even merrier. The next party game was to take a big haggis which the merry men passed around in a game of haggis football. It didn’t take long for the haggis to pop ! Robin Hood danced the night away with Maid Marion – she and Friar Tuck had been looking forward to eating some of the delicious fare they had been busy cooking all afternoon. There was roast loin and horses hooves … a fresh, green leafy salad, baked potatoes and bread rolls. Robin Hood and his Merry Men all sat down to dinner about eight – there was just enough chairs for everyone … and they sang songs about their exploits in the woodlands and their fights with the great knights of old. They had been sharpening their swords for months … and polishing up their batons.
