The greedy Swede was always hungry. No matter how much the greedy Swede ate, his belly always rumbled. He spent all Saturday baking cake and Yorkshire puds on Sundays. The greedy Swede loved to shop – no matter what the day. Greengrocer’s on Monday, butchers on Tuesday, bakers on Wednesday. The greedy Swede loved making bread – it grew as big as a ball. He cut and he chopped, as much as he could, then he mixed it all up with a drop of tomato sauce and a sprinkling of salt and pepper. By now, the greedy Swede’s taste buds were watering as he smelt the delicious food. The greedy Swede had breakfast, dinner, tea and supper twice a day, every day. The greedy Swede was so greedy that he almost ate everything in the supermarket. He ate all the apples, oranges and pears on the fruit stall. Every carrot, potato and pea. He rarely was seen without a cup of tea in his hand … or a sandwich. The greedy Swede was so greedy that he munched everything in the fridge … and much more, the cupboards, too.
