Bill the razorbill grew a beard. He soon had the hairiest face that had ever been seen or heard. He had hairy cheeks and hairy arms, too. Someone tried to trim it, but Bill stuck it back with glue. Bill the razorbill grew his beard back. Very soon, he looked like a haystack ! He stood in a grow bag to make his hair long and exercised daily to make the roots strong. Bill the Razorbill put his hair in plaits, he tied it with a ribbon, and weaved it into a mat. His long hair came in very handy, indeed, whenever he wanted to dry the pots (though sometimes it grew weeds). A bird came and made a nest, he thought it much cosier than a hedgerow and the rest. But he didn’t have enough twigs, so he went to the shops and looked at the wigs. Bill the Razorbill brushed his hair daily, to try and get rid of the growing daisy. Very soon, his hair was so thick, he styled it with curlers and made a flick. He used hairspray and a considerable amount of gel. Now Bill’s beard stuck to the comb as well. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Answers :
1.3 ( 2 x 7) = 42 cm
2. 100 / 5 = 20
3. 45 – (45 / 100 x 5 = 2.25 cm) = 42.75 cm
4. 50 – 15 = £35.00
5. 75 x 50 = 3, 750 sq cm
6. 30 / 3 = 10 worms
7. (5 x 1000) – (20 x 15) = 5000 – 300 = 4 700 mls
8. 2 (2 x 7 / 3) = 21.77
9. 2000 / 4 x 3 = 1500 m
10. 200 – (200 / 100 x 30 = 60) = 140
