The Magic Football Shirt

The magic football shirt was so magic that as soon as you put it on … you scored a goal. In fact, on washing day, you scored a hat – trick. The magic football shirt danced when music started to play … and could flip over backwards. The magic football shirt was so magic that it could bounce a ball – it didn’t even stop bouncing, when the shirt started to fall. If the magic football shirt was put in a suitcase for a trip or a holiday – then the football shirt played away … and scored again ! Wash days were always a favourite – especially Saturdays – when the football pitch was busiest with muddy football supporters. But it didn’t seem to matter how much mud there was – the magic football shirt jumped all by itself into the washing machine … then onto the washing line. Even the pegs pegged themselves onto the magic football shirt. As soon as the magic football shirt was on the washing line, the trousers started kicking and the socks started talking to each other … the shirt buttons (which had fallen off weeks ago) all jumped back into place and fastened themselves, too. The jumpers jumped and the tie tied up all the other clothes. The magic football shirt could jump onto a coat hanger, fold up all by itself and put itself onto the top shelf in the wardrobe. The magic football shirt was so magic that it never needed ironing … the creases just dropped out all by themselves. The magic football shirt was so magic that the number three on the back soon became a number nine.
