Thin Lynne

thin1.jpg

Thin Lynne was so thin that she didn’t need a key to unlock her door – she could slide through the letterbox. She was so thin that when she had a bath, she always slipped down the plughole in slippery slippy soap, through the drainpipe and into the grid in a mass of bubbly bubble bath bubbles. Thin Lynne was so thin that she was always getting lost … in a pile of papers or stuck in an envelope and posted to the other side of the world. Thin Lynne was so thin that none of her clothes fit very well at all – she fell through her trousers, her tights ended up around her ankles and her her necklace ended up as a belt around her middle. Thin Lynne was so thin that she never needed to open any doors, she could always limbo dance underneath … and so thin that she could slip the crack in the windows. Thin Lynne’s car was also very thin … so thin, in fact, that she never needed a car parking space. She was so thin that when she closed a book that she was reading, she ended up being used as a bookmark. Thin Lynne was so thin that when she queued up at the bus – stop … no – one noticed her and the bus sailed past. Thin Lynne was so thin that when people stood on her toes, she didn’t even feel it ! Thin Lynne was so thin that she disappeared through the cracks in the pavement and was never seen again.
