pooh-3.jpg 1. Winnie the Pooh loved honey. He learned maths by counting bees. If there were 150 bees but 25 % flew away,

a) How many were left ?

b) What fraction and decimal is that ?

pooh-3.jpg 3. Tigger loved jungle maths. He learned subtraction by taking away coconuts from a tree. He looked at a tree with 100 coconuts and cut down two branches. Each branch had 5 coconuts, how many coconuts were left ? 

pooh-3.jpg 4. Donkey was a real ass at maths ! E – aw ! He learned counting by using buckets of water. If he had a one litre bucket and added two cups, each containing 200 mls, how much water was there ?    

pooh-3.jpg 5. To learn about surface area, Donkey went eating grass in a field. To eat one square metre took 20 minutes of Donkey’s time. If the field measured 2 km wide x 2 km long, how long did it take to eat it all ?

pooh-3.jpg 14. Winne the Pooh wanted something new. He looked and some jumpers and then he bought two ! If one jumper cost £4.99, how much change did he receive from £20.00 ?

pooh-3.jpg 15. Winnie the Pooh invited Tigger, Donkey and Piglet around for lunch. They said that crisps were their favourite crunch ! If each packet of crisps contained 120 crisps, how many crisps were in 3 packets ?  

pooh-3.jpg 16. Work out the volume of a jar of honey if it had a lid that measured 10 cm wide and was 20 cm deep.

pooh-3.jpg 17. When Winnie the Pooh sniffed honey, his whiskers started to twitch and he sneezed rather a lot- all because of the honey he’d got. If his whiskers twitched 8 times every time that he smelt a new jar of honey and there were 8 jars, how many times did his whiskers twitch ?  

pooh-3.jpg 18. Winnie the Pooh washed his red shirt in the washing machine and it shrank ! It was 125 cm wide, but once washed, became one – fifth smaller – how wide was it then ?

How many words can you think of that include the letters P – O – O ? Example – shampoo.

1. a) 150 / 100 X 25 = 30 b) 0.25 and one quarter

2. 50 x 7 = 350

3. 100 – (2 x 5 = 10) = 90 coconuts

4. 1 400 mls

6. 80 – (80 / 100 x 5 = 0.8) = 71.2

9. 5 x 4 = 20

11. 5 – 1 = 4
