The Christmas When Santa Couldn’t Reach The Chimney

Santa loved Christmas with all his heart – but this year, Christmas really got off to a flying start. He slipped on the rooftiles and ended up slidin’ down the drainpipe in style ! At first, Santa couldn’t see, what the root cause of this problem could be (and he hoped that he’d find a solution, before the weather started to freeze !). First, Santa thought it would a good idea, to stand on a snowman’s shoulders, until the top of the windowsill came near. But the snowman, of course, being made of snow, soon collapsed into snowballs – which started to go. Nor was the snowman very happy about his hat, which “SPLAT !” when Santa fell over and ended up rather flat.

A step ladder appeared, brought by a gnome, which he’d used for decorating Santa’s grotto home. But when Santa tried to reach up high, the step ladder wobbled and off he did fly. Santa collapsed in a heap on the floor – the elves, of course, thought this was hilarious, and started to applaud. However, Santa wasn’t still any closer to the chimneypot, though he did try to stand on a flowerpot, to see if that might help or not.

Next, Santa tried a trampoline, which he used sometimes, when the windows needed a clean. But it didn’t work well at all – he missed completely and “CRASH !” landed on the wall. The robin suggested a rocket launch – so the pair of them could picnic on the chimney at lunch. He flew up onto the gutter to show Santa just the right spot, where he should aiming for – checking that Santa his spectacles wore (so he wouldn’t land on the floor !). No wonder that Santa’s robin was in such a flap – there was a hole in the trampoline and the step ladder started to “SNAP !”. The window cleaner, was busy with his bucket of hot water – getting in a “SPLASH !”, as quick as a flash, he threw Santa a rope … so Santa’s Christmas now had a wash using some of the shampoo that the Cristmas fairy had bought him! The Christmas when Santa couldn’t reach the chimney – was the most laid back Christmas of all. He wasn’t drunk, but he “KERPLUNKED !” on the lawn by a Christmas tree ten feet tall. In a muddle in the puddle, Santa asked Mrs. Christmas for a mistletoe cuddle … She came up with the best idea to date – to start up the sleigh and zoom away … soon, Santa had reached the chimney in minutes, they say.
